Another day, another large family session that never got blogged!  Oops.  This was nearly 3 years ago, and I remember it like yesterday.  Not only was this family hilarious, but we ended up having so much fun that I even met them for coffee the next time they were in town.

We started the session with portraits and the usual “warm-up” shots  — which usually involves me turning into a real-life clown to keep the kids happy and smiling.  But by the end of the shoot, all of us (yes, me included) were soaking wet from playing in the water and just having the most fun.

At one point, I had the kids racing to me and they were a little quicker than I expected.  I fell back a bit, as one of them slapped me a high five, and somehow the force of that high five made my wedding rings go flying into the air and plop!  Into the sand somewhere.  Everyone was in a mad panic looking for them, and after 5 minutes or so, they were found.  Perfectly imprinted into the sand.  It’s kind of a miracle anyone saw them at all!!  Phew.

These days, I don’t really drive to Oceanside that much for work.  It is a HAUL, especially if there’s any traffic coming from Burbank.  But I still love it out there.  Not only as a photo spot, but as a vacation spot in general.  The town is super laid back and you can rent huge houses right up against the water, some of them comfortably fit 15-20 people!  That’s actually what this family did, as well as a couple others that I’ve taken pictures of out there.  And it’s like a dream.  In fact, I kind of want to do it too!  Highly recommended.
