The Happiest Place on Earth sometimes feels a little happier when the sun goes down and the lights come on. There is excitement in the air as everyone waits anxiously for the fireworks to start (which never disappoint). The weather is cool, the treats taste better – and if your eyes don’t light up at the sight of the glowing pink castle, there’s something a little wrong with you! Gotta love it!

These two families are good friends, and it’s been my pleasure for the last couple of years to see their babies growing up together. Previous sessions can be seen here and here. This session was great, since we got to go to colorful Santa Monica Pier. The kids weren’t the happiest to be there – in fact, I think they were avoiding the camera at all costs (what!) – but once we got warmed up, it was nothing but fun. And just when you think the kids can’t get any cuter? Well, they do. I absolutely loved seeing the interaction between the daddies, mommies, sons, daughters and friends. Not to mention the lengths we go to trying to get the kids to smile. As always, I look forward to the next time!

But I gotta say, when it was all said and done we still got some great shots and I had a blast working with these families. And now we can all laugh about it, right guys? Right? Guys…?

This beautiful couple (whom we can now refer to as Mr. & Mrs. Black – cool last name, right?) had a tiny wedding on a big open beach. It was intimate and lovely. Their closest friends and family joined in celebrating with them. Quite romantic, if you ask me. The reception was at an Italian restaurant in Toluca Lake called Ca’ Del Sole. The setting, again, was intimate and the food was amazing. Congratulations to these two as they embark on their new journey together.

This was such a fun session. The couple was beautiful and easy-going. And it was styled by my sister-in-law (who has tons of creative ideas). We all just had a great time. One of Robin and Jeannine’s weekly traditions is to ride bikes and go get coffee, so we wanted to play off that with some photos at Starbucks and bike-riding in a cute little neighborhood. We also went up to where Robin proposed. Romantic! These two are a perfect match and I know they will be so happy together.

Nicole is a cute little gal, with big California dreams. She’s a busy woman pursuing acting, dancing, singing, etc. Multi-talented! She has a bubbly personality and knew just what to do for the camera. I knew I liked her immediately when she told me she could never become “too L.A.” because her little brothers keep her grounded. Yes, just add product photography to the long list of things I’m learning to do! :) If you remember about a year ago, I was taking photos on the set of a cooking show and now this lovely chef is releasing her own line of spices. She said she loved how the food photos turned out and wanted me to try my hand at the spices as well. It was actually really fun – a lot of experimentation, trial and error, lighting challenges… but I was pretty pleased with the final outcome.

How can you resist babies? Well, I’ll tell you. You can’t. This shoot was for little one-month old Scarlett. What a doll! Doesn’t hurt that her big sister and Mommy are beauties too. From the little toes to big curious eyes, I was loving every second of this session.
