Disneyland Vacation Photographer {Disney Shot for January}

If you don’t know by now that the Fireworks Spectacular at Disneyland is one of my favorite things on earth, then this must be one of the first Disney posts you’re checking out. I LOVE the fireworks show. It always takes my breath away and makes me feel like a goofy kid. It puts a little sparkle in my eye. And this time was even better because I got to see that same little sparkle in my son’s eye. I do have way too many shots of the show though, and after awhile they all start to look the same. So this time I wanted to try something a little different. It’s like a million little hidden Mickeys in the sky!

I have known this family a long time. {In fact when I was asking the parents how long they’ve been married, they replied “Long enough to remember you as a baby!” Impressive!} I haven’t seen them in ages, and I was so glad they asked me to shoot their family photos. All the kids were so sweet and well behaved, even with such a big group. And I guess the adults were too… It was so great to see you guys after all these years! Congrats to all of you on having beautiful families of your own!

I have never really gotten into the Disneyland parades. I always thought it was the best time to go on rides while all those suckers were sitting and waiting on the side of Main Street. But, with a little one, I have to say the parades are kind of awesome. I was all over the “Christmas Fantasy Parade”!

Believe it or not, we were actually trying to be hot in those photos. Yeah, nothing like a mouth full of leaves to make you feel sexy!

Well, this photo shoot had quite a story behind it – traffic, barfing, getting lost, sun going down, construction, hungry baby – we ran into almost every obstacle imaginable. But once we finally met, a little magic happened. These sweet boys were such a pleasure to photograph. And it was an honor including their mum in the shots, as she’s quite a fab photographer herself! She will be returning the favor sometime and taking pics of me and my boys! I’m delighted we got to meet and can’t wait for our turn. Love,

This awesome family is one that I look forward to photographing every year. The girls are just sweet and silly and I swear we are kindred spirits. I can’t say enough good things about these guys. I haven’t taken on a ton of work this holiday season. Sometimes its just better that way. Freeing myself up from editing photos gives me that extra time I need to focus on my family and make Christmas special to us. I mean, I actually got my Christmas cards out yesterday. It’s a rare occasion when that happens before Dec 20th! And my decorations are up! Go me! So the clients that I chose to take on this year are mostly friends of mine. People who are a little extra special to me. And it makes the process really fun! I have loved all my clients, old and new, up until now. But there’s just something about getting to take pics of your best friend and her beautiful family…

We did it quick. We did it awesome.
